      Winter’s Remains was a fun challenge to pull off. It’s made from the skeletal leaf remains of the Oregon Ash tree.

    1. The top image (Journal entry…blah blah blah) is a book of sorts. I created a balsa wood stick frame, stretched a hand colored block print to one side, took sections of text from my journal for the other, wrapped it with other paper with rivets in place and strung embroidery floss through all 8 cubes. Exceedingly light weight and very fragile. Green wrapped blocks refer to looking up into the canopy above my head, rusty brown is looking down. The earth of our hillsides has lots of iron.

      The coat is actually made from skeleton leaves collected during late winter, so not actually paper.
