Meet POST artist Susan Johnson

It became obvious within the first few moments of our conversation that Susan had a vast well of art experiences to draw from. Her artistic journey was influenced early in childhood when her mother would point out things to look at while on nature walks with Susan and her “built in best friend”, her twin sister Ann.
Susan’s high school yearbook shows her and her sister as the class’ most artistic members. Susan continued her art studies at Connecticut College for Women and graduated with a degree in art, married Curtis Johnson, and started teaching 1st grade. There were few jobs for an art teacher back in those days. Susan and her husband who enjoys woodworking moved to Seattle for his continuing education where she again taught first grade and enrolled in summer art classes at the University of Washington.
