The phrase “she sank into the depths” was very workable . It conjured up quite a few visual images. Giant squid was the initial thought, so I went with it. Snorkel woman was based on an image I shot while on Maui many years ago. Took about 3 hrs to complete. Nothing great but justContinue reading “Finished She Project”

She Phrase
Here is my phrase “She sank into the depths….” Squid and the deep blue sea is coming to mind… we’ll see what happens!
She Project 2009
Is it that time already? Yep, we are sitting on the eve of this year’s project. What is the She Project? Tomorrow afternoon I will receive a “she phrase” via email and I will spend only 2 hrs working an 8″x10″ 2D project. Saturday morning I turn the project in with a frame and itContinue reading “She Project 2009”
Retro Art
While looking at my friends site, I jumped into her “Retro” section. I find in very interesting to see the progression of artists through time. 6 Sides Completed
Yesterday it arrived in my mailbox, the completed block from the 6 Sides to Every Story project. Carol had given me a preview but it was very exciting to open the official envelope!

After taking the rubber fish class from Fred Mullet at ArtFest (it was our third day and I didn’t post any of the results from the class) Carol really wanted to have us come over for fish printing with the real thing. Lauren and I met at Carol & Harry’s place for the Gyotaku experience.Continue reading “Gyotaku at Carols”
Leaf Coat Addendum
For those interested, the leaf coat titled “Winter’s Remains” received the award in Fiber at the Ruth and Jim Howland Community Open 2009. Here is an image of it hanging in the gallery space. My friend Joanne McLennan’s alabaster sculpture is right below the coat. Beautiful piece Joanne!

The starting printer chose the subject from a news article, carved their image on one side of the 2″ x 2″ x 2″ cube and sent it on to the next person. The next participant read the news articles and created their own image fromContinue reading “6 Sides 2 Every Story”
After ArtFest…
I’ve been home a week and feel all the incredible energy slipping away. The dogs have taken me back as their mom. Mocha took several days to re-adjust. She was seemingly depressed at my leaving. Her energy levels have decreased. What a difference a week can make. Class 1 taught by Melissa Manley. The firstContinue reading “After ArtFest…”
