I was able to show her two stages of this print before she left us.
Here is the progress so far:
This is a linoleum block print. I’ve drawn the image onto the surface with pencil then reinforced the lines using permanent marker.
This is the same block in carving stage.
This is a proof of the block. It allows me to see how fine the lines are getting and what parts still need to go.
Still have quite a bit more to carve. We shall see how it all turns out and I’ll keep you posted!
I think the sky and trees look great. STOP. Are you thinking of more carving on the grass part? That image echos the one on the top of your blog.
Yes it does connect to the blog top. I’ve loved this image for the past 3 years and knew it would become a print one day. There is a horizon line and ocean not yet carved. Thanks for your input Carol. I always value your opinion being an amazing artist that you are! 🙂
Thanks Melissa for your comment too. It’s amazing to see how alert people are to images!
It’s lovely, and it is like the image at the top of your blog. Did you notice that before? No comment on stopping or adding more from me, ’cause I just don’t know. Glad your mother got to see it.
It’s beautiful, glad Evelyn was able to see it. Peace, Jean
