I’m probably going to bore you guys to tears with the dog eye images. Eyes have always been of interest to me and it seems like doing sketches will help with something down the line. Since Mr Moby is always available, he will be my main subject. For this image, I was waiting around for Zaffa’s mom to come retrieve her old friend and thought “I’ve got to do another drawing!” Mechanical pencil and sketch book were available. Pretty simple stuff, but seriously challenging for my brain to wrap around all the surface changes around the eye & eyelid. Part of me really wants to sculpt it but maybe these will end up as drypoint studies… Time will tell!
🙂
Actually ..the eyes are pretty good …much better than mine…I have problems doing well defined eyes.. like the drawing
Thank you! Zaffa & Moby’s eyes are the first up close eyes I’ve done. Kind of a fun experiment line to follow.
Whoa…it turned up really good
🙂
Gale,
The look in my dog’s eye is one of the things I most love about them. It was astonishing to me how much I mourned when Dakota went blind. We worked very hard to restore his vision, and what a blessing when he could once more look at me. I really resonate with this project of yours.
Mary
Mary, I couldn’t agree with you more and the same is true with people too. I hadn’t heard you guys were able to recapture some of his vision. What a blessing indeed!
We shall see where this all goes… the drawings. I would really like to get some press time. Maybe with a little luck next week. 🙂
Love to the fam!
