Last week held promise yet evaporated without much to recall. It started strong with the large Ewe and Lamb charcoal drawing then fizzled until Friday when I did a bit of product development with holiday ornaments. The weekend was beautiful and we took full advantage of the weather by completing numerous outdoor projects and evenContinue reading “Another slow week”

Moby Forest continues…
Isn’t it done YET??? Oh my goodness!!! I’m just furious with myself for not getting things moving and out the door! What the heck is wrong with me??? I guess life keeps rearing up and stalling progress forward. The next book is on it’s way… So, what’s been happening? Well, more coastal stuff, trying toContinue reading “Moby Forest continues…”
Progress?
I have been swamped with quite a variety of things since posting back in June: kitten time, health issues, home challenges, and to top it off the upcoming sale of our family’s coastal home in September. The book progress has been at a standstill as I attempt to get through theses different tasks. I’m horribleContinue reading “Progress?”
Madame Grump
We are still waiting for winter in Oregon. Yes, it’s mid February, but somehow we’ve missed out on all the powerful storms and snowfall. With the lack of winter comes an early flea/tic season. The dogs received oral flea medication back on Monday after discovering a multitude of “friends” on Hazel. Today I pinched aContinue reading “Madame Grump”
Sheepish
I spent more of my night coughing and awake than asleep. I’m still recovering from a horrendous respiratory infection that started about 2 weeks ago. Rather than going to Eugene today, I figured another day of rest was a wise choice. I thought a quick sketch of the mama sheep from Sunday was anContinue reading “Sheepish “
Circle of Life- The Final Sketchbook
Here is the long awaited completion to Anna Warren’s Sketchbook collaboration. The project was started in March 2015. Anna’s theme was “The Circle of Life”. I found it fascinating that we all chose plants as our muses for this book. Below is the first group page. You can get a flavor for what each artistContinue reading “Circle of Life- The Final Sketchbook”
Final Page
Holy cow! It’s finally done! All it took was letting go of fears and playing with color. Above, I’ve posted the slideshow of progress, from tentative drawing to finished page. I love watching how work develops over time. From a rather bland image to one that has a bit more depth and structure. Well, at leastContinue reading “Final Page”
Dried
The final page in Anna’s book is progressing. You can see just a tad of Cathe’s image to the right. The subject I chose was the stages of a Christmas Cactus(Schlumbergera) flower. This, the final page, holds a dried/shriveled flower. I stared out using colored pencils and shifted rapidly to watercolors. We shall see how itContinue reading “Dried”
Almost done
Is it done yet? Nope. I thought so initially, but there needs to be more leaf work to tie the pages together. I’ve started planning the back page image of a withered dried up flower, not very beautiful, but that’s the theme of this book, the circle of life. I’ve never spent this much timeContinue reading “Almost done “
And a bit more…
Slowly but surely my body is coming back into line. From a kidney infection to discovering the final gluten toxin destroying my intestines (hidden inside my multi vitamins- labeled gluten free but not since they don’t know what’s going on with their ingredient suppliers). So now, maybe my body can finally start healing on theContinue reading “And a bit more…”
