Dividing time: Aug 29 to Sep 4
What happened this week? I’m feeling like nothing happened, but thanks to keeping track via photos, I can look back at everything. Last Sunday I did a bit of dying. Another half pound of wool and another striking color. The wool will most likely be spun and turned into a weaving project. I also dyedContinue reading “Dividing time: Aug 29 to Sep 4”
Finishing one project and changing my mind
This past week was filled with indecisions that finalized. What indecisions were on the table? Well, the donation for The Art Center’s Art for the Heart. I kept waffling between old and new ideas before settling on the Fat Sheep felted sculpture. I think it’s a better choice that the owl pictured below. Sometimes IContinue reading “Finishing one project and changing my mind”
Backyard Wildlife Book Collaboration
Two years ago I created a hand-made book full of blank pages for 4 other artists (plus myself) to fill in. The title was “Backyard Wildlife” and totally open for the other artists to interpret this idea. We all live in different parts of the world: Karen and Anna are in Australia, Rebecca in Sweden,Continue reading “Backyard Wildlife Book Collaboration”
Warmth and sunshine
Here we are on March 17, 2019 and it truly feels like spring! Topping out at almost 70, we spent the day house cleaning and clearing brush in the backyard. I finished Anna’s book page yesterday and packed it up today for Cathe. So overdue, but I’m happy with what’s being sent forward (which isContinue reading “Warmth and sunshine”
Bug taking shape
Holes and crazy bugs are taking shape on the iris stalks. Progress is in super slow mode. The colors have become a tad wild for my normal sense of life, but it works. Fingers crossed for another chance tomorrow afternoon for additional work. Off to cook dinner! Drawing: colored pencil, watercolor, micron pen and pencil.
More Seedpod work
The end of January is quickly approaching and more progress is happening on Anna’s page. I hadn’t actually read through the introduction page since opening the package…..and WOW, I’m so horribly off topic from what it was supposed to be. Edible Plants! Eat Me is the title! What happened in my brain??! These are seriouslyContinue reading “More Seedpod work”
Progress?
I have been swamped with quite a variety of things since posting back in June: kitten time, health issues, home challenges, and to top it off the upcoming sale of our family’s coastal home in September. The book progress has been at a standstill as I attempt to get through theses different tasks. I’m horribleContinue reading “Progress?”
Two birds with color
Household illnesses have certainly slowed down studio time. Monday I jumped in on the warbler, popping blues and yellow in WC, then topping with colored pencil and micron pen. Monday night was critique group meeting and I actually had something to share! Today I started adding touches to the Chickadee. The slow progress is partlyContinue reading “Two birds with color”
Circle of Life- The Final Sketchbook
Here is the long awaited completion to Anna Warren’s Sketchbook collaboration. The project was started in March 2015. Anna’s theme was “The Circle of Life”. I found it fascinating that we all chose plants as our muses for this book. Below is the first group page. You can get a flavor for what each artistContinue reading “Circle of Life- The Final Sketchbook”
