Backyard Wildlife Book Collaboration

Two years ago I created a hand-made book full of blank pages for 4 other artists (plus myself) to fill in. The title was “Backyard Wildlife” and totally open for the other artists to interpret this idea. We all live in different parts of the world: Karen and Anna are in Australia, Rebecca in Sweden,Continue reading “Backyard Wildlife Book Collaboration”

Still not finished…

After several weeks of illness, I’m finally cracking on with the book. A deer appeared in the upper left section because I’ve been seeing quite a few grazing in the far back. The birds are abundant and new furry faces are showing up. We’ve had a few squirrels visit the deck and surrounding trees over the pastContinue reading “Squirrel?”

Ink change

Today, my finger joints were bugging me so I chose to do limited work on the block. Gripping the dry point needle is very uncomfortable. There remains quite a bit to resolve on the bird and fingers but I’m feeling good about the whole image. A proof using thickened oil based ink (a bunch ofContinue reading “Ink change”

Bird continues

The little bird continued today. The more I work, the more frustrated I become. I seem to recall this sort of feeling when learning new things. The print has started to move in it’s own direction and probably won’t even come close to what I had envisioned, but that’s probably ok.  Proof #4 is below.Continue reading “Bird continues”
