Friday’s highlight was visiting my friend Carol’s place out in Philomath. I picked up Lauren and we headed out around 1. The day couldn’t have been better. Sunshine and 60+degrees. Here is our tour around the farm. Lambs and more lambs! He was checking us out! One mom had triplets! I think these were allContinue reading “Lambs of Spring”

Things are finally moving along. The sides required more leaves and I created a sleeve off one shoulder. That part didn’t work. It’s all a learning process. Once the coat dried, everything was peeled off the glass so “real sleeves” could be produced. Voila! A vest is formed! After the sides were secured in vestContinue reading “And More Leaves”
This coat did not just come to life one day, but has come from the past many months of Mocha’s life. Yes, the old dog. I collectContinue reading “Under the Leaves”
Things have been progressing along. The coat is taking real form now (I’m keeping the current images a secret still!). So here is the update… More to come in a day or so. Currently the sleeves are giving me fits. I’ll get it sorted today.

This morning as the dogs and I were out on our walk, I noticed yet another sign of spring, the first sighting of a Swallow. It was only one (possibly a Tree Swallow), but more will follow. In the backyard while taking a break from mowing I sighted a butterfly. Spring Beauties, a type ofContinue reading “More signs of Spring”
The problem: What can I create using lots of dead leaves. Solution: A coat! How did I come to this realization? Well, that’s for another posting. All I can say is that my mind works in strange ways. It did take several weeks to come up with the “how to” part. So here we go!Continue reading “Leaf Coat Project”
ArtFest occurs every spring in Port Townsend WA. Located on the beautiful grounds of Fort Warden State Park (where the movie “An Officer and a Gentleman” was filmed) hundreds of artsy-crafty folks descend. April 1-5 are this years dates. A total of 27 instructors teach individual classes each day. Last year was my first andContinue reading “ArtFest around the corner”
Going back through some bookmarks I encountered one that was worth while. It’s been out there for a while. Initially I encountered it on Melissa Manley’s blog site. Please take a look at Andrew Zuckerman “Wisdom” http://www.wisdombook.org
