“A Walk in the Woods” is looking finished for the Howland Community Open today. Only part lacking are two eye screws to hang from the wall/ceiling/window. I wonder if it will make it on the “curators wall”. That would be a big honor. Drop off time is between noon and 4pm Saturday January 29th. ThisContinue reading “A Walk in the Woods”

Filling in Squares
Progress has been slow but I might still make it for the Howland Community Open at The Arts Center in Corvallis. Today I found perfect screw eyes to connect the squares and clear hemlock for the frame. However, I’m realizing the screws purchased will not cover all the connections needed…. back to the hardware store!Continue reading “Filling in Squares”
Smoky and Oh, Not So Good!
Here are two images of the same thing, but at different times. Can you figure out what happened? Looking at the ceiling structure of rental #6 back in May 2010. Looking at the same ceiling structure January 24, 2011…. Humm….. here’s one more image taken from the kitchen side. Yikes! Carbon deposited via smoke couldContinue reading “Smoky and Oh, Not So Good!”
Progress in small steps
The piece is progressing along slowly. I’ve run out of balsa wood and need to replenish. More botanical cuts to make and a couple to re-cut due to mistakes. 10 out of 20 panels isn’t too bad. The Art About Ag show is my main creating focus for the next couple of months. With any luck, project #1 might be completed before the community open drop date onContinue reading “January Studio Time”
Good Bye Mari

Mari Le Glatin Keis introduced many of us to the idea of sketching our way through a country, recording bits and pieces into journals cementing images more strongly than a photograph ever would. We explored the countryside of her homeland,Continue reading “Good Bye Mari”
Coast House Weekend
The coast house has been in need of a little TLC which Kim, Dave & I were able to provide. Our list is still long, mainly yard work, but some jobs were completed. Above photo is sunset at Patterson beach just south of Waldport on Jan 2. We set Dave to work on the smokeContinue reading “Coast House Weekend”
2010 in review
The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health: The Blog-Health-o-Meter™ reads Wow. Crunchy numbers A Boeing 747-400 passenger jet can hold 416 passengers. This blog was viewed about 10,000 times in 2010. That’s about 24 full 747s. Continue reading “2010 in review”
Saying Goodbye to 2010
Albany Oregon Sunrise, December 31, 2010 What a year 2010 has been and we’re super happy to start fresh again! Happy 2011 to you all! Sorry, no spectacular sunrise image for 1/1/11. I was still sleeping off the wine, beer and rum. 🙂
