This is my adventure into creating an art installation for the Art in Rural Storefronts project sponsored by The Arts Center of Corvallis. ARS serves regional audiences in Linn and Benton Counties by bringing innovative, thought- provoking art projects to rural communities that lack spaces dedicated to contemporary/non-commercial art. Three artists were chosen to participate. Continue reading “Ditch Fish Project: starting to get fishy”

Morning tea with the deck plants
Our back deck holds numerous plant experiments. Recently I pulled the terra cotta pocket-pot out of the back yard. It had originally been planted with a multitude of herbs, a gift to Dave on his 40th birthday from friends. The chives remain in a side pocket, but that’s all. I think I’ll have to addContinue reading “Morning tea with the deck plants”
Albany Garden Tour
Saturday was a most glorious day for a garden tour. Warm! Up into the low 80’s! Needless to say I was a bit more enthusiastic with the photos at the beginning than later on. 7 stops total, but our group skipped the one closest to our house because we already know the setting. We startedContinue reading “Albany Garden Tour”
Coming down to the wire…. and it’s moved!
For the past week, on and off, I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around a working concept for a call to artists. Actually, the contemplation has been ruminating for the past several months. The artwork, a site specific installation, would be shown in an empty storefront of one of our local rural towns. MyContinue reading “Coming down to the wire…. and it’s moved!”
Monday discoveries
Why is it when Dave leaves, the dog gets crazy? Currently, he’s off in India jumping between Goa & Chennai for the next week. There is one other place but I can’t recall where. Somewhere south of Chennai. I’m at home jumping through dog hoops, trying to keep the crazy boy out of trouble whileContinue reading “Monday discoveries”

Spring Snow 2012 Continued! Early afternoon on Wednesday I took a 2 mile loop with Moby. Very wet snow but a nice walk. Nearing the boardwalk Moby pointing at ducks in the marsh area. Our house before the extra snow. The snow kept falling for the entire day and increased after 6pm during our secondContinue reading “Spring Snow 2012: day 2”
Wait! I thought it was spring?!
Mother nature is certainly having some change of plans in the state of Oregon, well, everywhere I guess. Today, being the second day of spring, we are accumulating snow. Yes, that’s right, SNOW! This is extremely unusual for our area and the last noticeable snow was on March 1st. Now it’s the 21st and weContinue reading “Wait! I thought it was spring?!”
Hanging on by his paws
This past week has been filled with ups and downs, but feeling rather heavy on the down side. George is still hanging on but we’re not certain for how much longer. Today, Sunday, he actually has been a little more “normal” if you can call it that. He’s probably considered to be in heart failure.Continue reading “Hanging on by his paws”
New snow for a new month
It’s always surprising to wake to a dusting of snow here in the Willamette Valley. We received (at our location) about an inch. Just enough to coat our normally green & brown landscape. and then the sun came up … The dogs always enjoy goofing around in the snow, no matter what the age. ThisContinue reading “New snow for a new month”
Chocolate Fantasy Donation
On March 2, 2012, The Arts Center will be hosting their grand benefit called Chocolate Fantasy. Yes,with chocolate in the title, who wouldn’t want to attend? They have also roped in basketball coach Craig Robinson ( that’s Michelle Obama’s brother for those outside the area) who will be helping MC the event. Besides the culinaryContinue reading “Chocolate Fantasy Donation”
