Moby continues

A bit more work today on my crazy boy. Moby is slowly emerging from his favorite blue chair. I don’t think I’ll add color to him directly, just the blue chair and shadow. I’ll have to wrap him up by Friday so other projects can get underway. Graphite pencil and watercolor

Cat Fun

Me Me kitty can be a good sport, sometimes. Today she allowed a few fashion snaps of the felted cat hair hat created from just two days of combing. She’s not impressed! At 16, the queen begrudgingly shares the house with 2 rambunctious young calicoes, 2 dogs, one screaming cockatoo, and her house slaves. SheContinue reading “Cat Fun”

A little more work

I’m finally sitting back down in the studio to work on the dog drawing. It’s definitely a work in progress. Ears, eyes, nose, and mouth zone keep shifting as more information gets laid down. Life has been a jumble of so many things that I’ve had a hard time sorting out daily tasks. Arthritis flair-upsContinue reading “A little more work”

Boston Shift

I’m not sure where I’m heading, but I needed to start a larger drawing. I’ve spent loads of time researching ideas and keep coming back to the desire of drawing animals on a bit larger scale. Filling in the page

Last night I was too tired and hot to even consider picking up a pencil. My day had been filled with more time in Eugene working on the house. Dinner didn’t even come together until after 9pm, but those pesto turkey burgers were yummy! Moby’s next image came this morning as I worked on myContinue reading “Filling in the page”

Working through problems

Sleeping dog in sun.  Feet and body in shadows. Warm daylight. I’m amazed the grainy texture is slowly disappearing as new colors are scraped over the top. The image becomes more resolved as it moves along, an interesting process to witness. My cousin recently commented “for someone who claims not to paint, it’s awfully painterly!”Continue reading “Working through problems”

Completing 7 colors

Whew! The past 4 days have been filled with one print and I think I can proclaim it finished. One more checked off the list of 12. Here are the final 3 colors. So close! And the finished image… This finished image is 6″x6″. 8 colors total (including the white of the paper). Rives BFKContinue reading “Completing 7 colors”
