Finished and moving on

Whew! I actually completed an artwork. Next up is the book collaboration and possibly another print exchange in Castlemaine Australia (thanks to my art friend Karen!) The book paper is folded and ready for sketches! Ideas should start attaching to paper today. The weather continues to slowly warm, flowers and trees are blooming, green surroundsContinue reading “Finished and moving on”

Looking Nifty

A basket of finished towels! Not a bad site to behold. They still need one good washing before a hot iron and packaging of some sort. The jury is still out on which towel is the best. I’ll let consumers be the best judge. Why did I choose these two colors? The blue and orange-yellow?Continue reading “Looking Nifty”

Pushing forward with something

Today was the first WARM day here in the Willamette Valley. We hit 80F (26.6C)! Our spring has been overly wet and grey. Some of the native trees have been about 2 weeks behind schedule. On “normal years”, the Plumeria plants move outside around April 1. This year its a month late. Current art relatedContinue reading “Pushing forward with something”

Blue Fern

With the depressing state of the US government, I’ve decided to take a few days off from social media to work on art projects. First on the list is completing a small edition of the screen print tea towels. The fern image required a bit of touch-up before moving forward. Half of the morning wasContinue reading “Blue Fern”

Gear Switching

Friday I technically had to myself, which didn’t seem to make much difference since my brain is back on all the brother issues. To divert attention, I started playing with a bag design that will eventually receive screen printing. More and more towns in our region are banning plastic bags and charging $0.05 for paperContinue reading “Gear Switching “

Loading the Walls

Wednesday morning a small group from the Merry Inksters went to Philomath to hang a print exhibit inside Gathering Together Farm. The business isn’t open yet for the season, but they are having 3 big dinners at their restaurant around Valentine’s Day. The 6 artists exhibiting are Carol Chapel, Debby Sundbaum Sommers, Julia Lont, VictoriaContinue reading “Loading the Walls”

Formline frogs and other disasters

A rather goofy looking frog drawing but there is a history to it. Long ago (probably back in the 50’s/60’s) someone in my family, possibly my grandmother, purchased a couple of sets of placemats and napkins from the local arts center. These placemats had a formline frog image. Both she and my parents had aContinue reading “Formline frogs and other disasters”

Dog print show: final week

The dogs will be returning home after a month on view at The Arts Center of Corvallis. Their final day is Saturday May 25, noon to 5pm. If you do make it in, please make sure to visit BOTH gallery spaces (yes, they are split between two areas). Wander into the back office/staff space toContinue reading “Dog print show: final week”

Dogs on Display

It’s official, the dogs are really up. This is the first 2 person show I’ve done since my senior exhibit back in 2003. Kind of scary, but good. Check out the site at The Arts Center or better yet, get in there and see it for yourself. It will be up until May 25. ArtContinue reading “Dogs on Display”

Blue Ball

The 12th and final image for the show. Rogue is finally printed. The images will be on display from April 30 to May 25  in the Corrine Woodman Gallery at The Arts Center of Corvallis OR. Oh, there has been a request for all the images on cards (Maria!) and it could happen. I’ll startContinue reading “Blue Ball”
