Eugene Days

This post is for my family scattered across the country who have been wondering about the old home. I thought it might be fun to post a couple of photos of the house. It’s currently getting lots of work done in anticipation of selling… eventually.  Tuesday we had numerous tree guys climb all over the roof and up tall trees to cut down dangerous limbs and make things more presentable. Plus they tied back Rhodies and a few trees that have been resting on the decks and railings. The photos are of the front yard/walkways only. The back is still in need of work.

This home is very much Mid Century Modern and was totally designed and built by my father.

First image is looking down on the front walkway, from the carport, to the house. Loads of trees and some rhodies. Yes, those are pyramid structures on the roof. They have skylights.

And a little farther down the street…

Walking down some of the stairs into the front yard… there used to be a huge amount of grass but the weeds have taken over.

Progress! Just not at lightening speed. 🙂

  1. Love the house, what a beautiful setting. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us as well. Good luck with the clearance, I am also trying to clear out/fix up my parents old home and I am slower than you. Karen

    1. It’s a hard and emotional job. One of my brothers is an ex real estate agent and all I keep hearing from him is “you’re missing the fall market!” Not a very helpful big brother. 😦
Good luck to you with your clearing/fixing. You’ll get it done in your own time. Me too!

      1. I will keep my fingers crossed for you getting some very appreciative new owners, Gale. I know how difficult it must be for you, I have been through this myself and my oldest friend went through the same thing last year. Luckily for her a relation bought the family home. Hope it goes as easy for you as possible!xx

      2. I’ll just be happy to get the old thing on the market soon!
Glad you’re back home and working on your new inspirations! Looking forward to seeing more new paintings from your studio.
        🙂
