Happy Holidays to all! Thanks for all your interest and support this year. Looking forward to great new adventures in 2013! I’m sporting a great gift from an incredible girlfriend in Colorado. She took up knitting a couple of years ago. This season we each received a great hat. A good thing since my boiledContinue reading “Happy Holidays!”

What’s next?
Art requests seem to be flowing into the studio with even a few pieces flowing out! This past weekend a little sea squirt was adopted by someone in Florida via ETSY. #8 was shipped today! During the Merry Inksters Holiday sale, one “I Pug You” print and misc cards found new homes. Now if IContinue reading “What’s next?”
Garden Harvest
Planting crops in late July probably wasn’t the best for achieving a big harvest, but it was what I could manage this season. We did grow enough purple tomatillos to make a good batch of green salsa for a dinner or two. Green tomatoes might also become something tasty. The Black Krum heirlooms really didn’tContinue reading “Garden Harvest”
Information overload
Some intelligent person once said “Information is power”. It can certainly work in one’s favor when dealing with medical issues. Getting routine blood tests, physicals, mammography etc is a way of providing a baseline for you and your doctor to work from. For the past two months, I’ve been getting caught up with overdue tests.Continue reading “Information overload”
Welcome to the World!
Welcome little Riley Kathryn! Thanks so much to your mom and dad for letting me come visit when you are still in your first day! Hopefully they will let me come baby sit when you’re a little older. 🙂
Obit and Wake
I heard my dad’s obit (the very generalized one) came out in yesterday’s Register Guard. Mike found a great photo taken out in Yachats long before the cancer diagnosis. He is currently working on a more through obituary to actually talk about Lee’s life. We are planning a celebration of my fathers life on SeptemberContinue reading “Obit and Wake”
He left us
He left us yesterday afternoon on a beautiful summer day. He was feeling no pain as his body’s breathing slowed. He didn’t die alone. Michael was there. So was the incredible nurse Melody. They held his hand and encouraged him to let go. She knew it would happen on her shift. She stayed on extraContinue reading “He left us”
Reading and waiting
Yesterday was fairly unchanged in Lee’s condition. Dr F, the oncologist, visited while Mike was still there. The report was that he was very angry, mainly because he was loosing one of his favorite patients, but also because the dance with chemo didn’t work. This mornings report is that his breathing is shallower and moreContinue reading “Reading and waiting”
Loosing the Battle
The cancer is winning the battle in my dad’s body. Mike spent the night watch at the hospital. Kim & I went home to sleep. They took him off one pain medication and started morphine. He’s breathing more comfortably and doesn’t seem to be experiencing any pain. Family members: If you are hoping to stopContinue reading “Loosing the Battle”
Waiting…
This is going to be yet another crazy day. We (my siblings & I) are pushing to have Lee admitted to the hospital today for IV fluids and hopefully a feeding tube. Mike is taking him in to the oncologist for a quick visit & to determine his urgency level (which is HIGH!) and hopefullyContinue reading “Waiting…”
