Week 2 print results: A block a day is not possible for me. C’est la vie! 2-3 are possible depending on subject matter. I’ve finally called it quits on the slug print. The image modifications have been going on for several days. Here is the printed image and a color test. Banana slugs are anContinue reading “Slug print”

Mollusk Monday
The forest art print project is still moving along.4″x4″ printed & water colored squares will eventually become attached to balsa wood frames. The carved images are quick and not perfect. Forest Project Continued
With the initial “Walk in the Woods” project completed, gears are shifting to tackle the next. I’ve decided to approach the art through printmaking and cube construction. Every year on Christmas Eve, our family gathers for a grand crab feed. Living in Oregon, Dungeness crab is not hard to find. Evelyn’s Tree Print: Finished?
Feeling about finished with Evelyn’s Tree. Tried to adjust one section that was having problems and wasn’t successful. Adding linoleum back into the block just isn’t possible. Next step will be to set up a silk screen to drop color over the image. It can also be just in black & white if people prefer.Continue reading “Evelyn’s Tree Print: Finished?”
Evelyn’s Tree Print
I was able to show her two stages of this print before she left us. Here is the progress so far: This is a linoleum block print. I’ve drawn the image onto the surface with pencil then reinforced the lines using permanent marker. This is the same block in carving stage. This is a proofContinue reading “Evelyn’s Tree Print”
