It’s hard to believe that almost seven months have passes since my father was out driving in his truck. An awful lot has occurred in that short time. All the vertebrae breaks, surgeries, cancer diagnosis and everything else. Today was a small milestone towards his return to a “normal” life. He ventured out on aContinue reading “Small steps…”

Quick Lee update
Just got off the phone with Kim. She & Lee are still hanging out at the oncologists. Lee is almost done with this month’s Zometa treatment. His weight has decreased yet another pound (down to 144 now). Not good! His red blood cell count also decreased over the past 2 weeks (from 10.8 down toContinue reading “Quick Lee update”
Paperlantern Update
Yesterday, before heading to Eugene for lunch, Dave & I stopped by J&J Electric in Albany. I was on a quest to find parts for the lamp. Very nice folks there! The gentleman listened to what I needed and took us in the back to show us parts. We discussed the possibilities and came awayContinue reading “Paperlantern Update”
A week off
Lee has now been through a full 21 days of oral chemo therapy and in the middle of his 7 days off of lenolidomide- Revlimed. So far there have been no major side effects except loss of sleep due to the dexamethasone (steroid). He’s been enduring a very slow recovery from the last Kyphoplasty. PainContinue reading “A week off”
To Goa or Not to Goa… that is the question!
Last night Dave came home late. Not terribly surprising since things have been a tad hectic at work. He told me about a “hot” meter that has to be sent out today by 2pm and his production floor staff had disassembled it in the process of trying to figure out a problem. Yikes! A comedyContinue reading “To Goa or Not to Goa… that is the question!”
Lee update…another non-art posting!
This is just a quick note about yesterday’s successful kyphoplasty. He and I spent the vast majority of the day at Riverbend waiting for his procedure to start. Fortunately we had the opportunity to see many familiar faces in the CATH prep & recovery area. It’s probably a bad thing to start knowing all theContinue reading “Lee update…another non-art posting!”
MRI Today
Lee is already at the imaging place for his MRI as I write this note. This will determine if another kyphoplasty can be performed on Wednesday. We are uncertain if his new medications will interfere with the procedure. More to find out later! Saturday was my Lee day. When I spend the day with himContinue reading “MRI Today”
T-7: Busted!
Wednesday was spent in Eugene with Lee. His pain was so acute that we spent 5 hrs at the ER only to have them tell us that “yes, you did break another vertebrae and we don’t want you to stay here.” Fortunately they dosed him with some pretty good stuff that made it bearable toContinue reading “T-7: Busted!”
Chemo start
Yes, I realize that several of you are waiting for images from the Sitka workshop. Have patience little grasshopper! They will come. There are other things happening this week of a bit more importance. Today I’ll be going down to Eugene to be extra ears for how the chemo will work, and what side effectsContinue reading “Chemo start”
