She traveled from Swansea Wales (yes, from the UK!) all the way to little ol’ Idaho to introduce 6 artists to a more advanced monotype technique. Mr. Big Nose is finished!
Zeek, you’re done. My eyes and hands need a break. No more printing until the workshop in Boise! Well, just a little bit but it really doesn’t count. Print title: Close Block print, Kozo paper, oil based ink Hurray!!! 🙂
Dog Nose
And it’s still not done yet, but certainly getting a lot closer. Dog noses are such strange things. I debated for quite a while how to approach such a prominent one. They have these little bumps all over the wet surface, something I’m not skilled enough at to represent. Lines work for this experiment. 🙂
Crazy Fur
The elusive Zeek starting to emerge… Eventually I’ll have to start work on his nose. Labradoodles have the craziest coats, curls in one area then wavy hair in others. Beards too, kind of like Moby. Maybe that’s why I enjoy their look. Proofed in a new Burnt Sienna ink, just for the fun of it.Continue reading “Crazy Fur”
Afternoon Nap
It’s done and that’s about all I can say for tonight. It certainly took a few twists and turns I didn’t fully expect. I think I’ll have to live with it for awhile and hear what others have to say. 🙂

How much more can I go? Well, it looks like one more step might do it. Right now, the image is not fully resolved. My value shifts were not dramatic enough to really push the coat changes (which makes it readable from a greater distance).
