Here is color 3: Since this is the beginning of the year and I’m trying to get myself better organized, I’ve started to finally keep notes on paper I like for printmaking. So far, my preference is leaning heavily to BFK Rives for screen and etching processes. It accepts ink evenly yet continues to layContinue reading “Mystery screen: color 3”

Another print in progress
Here are the first two colors of a reduction screen print. I’m not going to say what the subject happens to be. You’ll just have to wait to find out. Hopefully it actually turns out ok… if not, you might not see the rest of it! 🙂 This is my newly acquired drying rack system.Continue reading “Another print in progress”
So close!
After a weekend of no water in the house and plumbing woes out of the way, the Moby print came back in focus. There will be one more color for the border, but for the most part things are looking pretty complete. Keeping the print paper properly lined up (registration) can often be a challenge.Continue reading “So close!”
2 colors down
Lack of useable colored etching ink has thrown some of my printmaking into a standstill. However, there is always screen printing! My inks for that style are also getting old but still useable. A couple of years ago I switched from Speedball to Versa and I’m not very happy. Maybe it’s the extender butContinue reading “2 colors down”
Sleep Deprivation and Demon Dogs
This morning started early due to “Demon Dog” Moby jumping on the bed. 70 lbs of leaping dog is something you can’t miss, especially when it’s on your sided. Nudging, pushing, standing over the top of me staring, stepping all over my legs, the Beast was making his point loud and clear. Hungry! Food please?!Continue reading “Sleep Deprivation and Demon Dogs”

screen printing project: artfest house 4e
ArtFest is just around the corner and another addition to the group prayer flags is here! I’ve chosen to do a screen print. Many of my friends and family have not seen this process, so I’ll try to break it down in photo form for all to understand. Here is the process I go throughContinue reading “screen printing project: artfest house 4e”
