Weekend

I was blessed with a quiet house for 30 min Saturday while Dave took the hounds on a walk. I actually accompanied them for a while but returned home early. My body isn’t fully recovered from the recent illness. Nigel benefited from the dog-free house.  Cuddles, extra canned food, and love. I’m always amazed atContinue reading “Weekend”

The creature…

from the mud lagoon appeared in the yard today. Ya never know what you’ll find after the snow melts. Oh my, he has interesting feet… He looks awful happy… should I bring him inside??? Just look at those cute mud dreadlocks hanging from his face!!! Now the realization sets in that he’s up S***T creekContinue reading “The creature…”

Cold

Bone chilling temperatures are not part of our typical winter vocabulary here in the  Willamette Valley. Our normal December highs are in the mid 40’s, lows in the mid 30’s. Over the past 10 days we’ve been below freezing (day and night) with several nights reaching low single digits and even sub temps. Tuesday wasContinue reading “Cold”

Texture and Paint

Currently, my normal studio space is swamped with tools, boxes, washer & dryer, more tools, tile, and extra stuff making it extremely difficult to get anything done. All part of remodeling woes!  I almost can’t remember the downstairs bathroom being a functioning finished space. Slowly, it’s coming together.  Below are a couple of shots ofContinue reading “Texture and Paint”

Stuffing with family

Thanksgiving is a time for family. We spent the afternoon with my oldest brother, his girlfriend, her son’s family, and one of the nephews. Hanging out with my oldest nephew. Is he really 29? The baby wasn’t ready to hang out with me yet (clinging to grandma), but by the end of the evening, weContinue reading “Stuffing with family”

Eugene Days

This post is for my family scattered across the country who have been wondering about the old home. I thought it might be fun to post a couple of photos of the house. It’s currently getting lots of work done in anticipation of selling… eventually.  Tuesday we had numerous tree guys climb all over theContinue reading “Eugene Days”

You’re not supposed to be in the house!

We’ve had a variety of animal/bird/reptile visitors in our home over the years. I typically don’t freak out too much and approach the situation as calmly as possible once the dogs/cats are out of the space. I’ve removed snakes, baby rabbits, voles, field mice, flying squirrels, numerous birds, frogs… but today’s visitor was new. We’veContinue reading “You’re not supposed to be in the house!”

Setting Records and the Cone of Shame

Both dogs made it through their surgeries and are home. The vet and crew experienced how stubborn Mr Moby can be. He went into “freak out” mode which involves a high level of adrenaline running through his body. This made it more difficult to put him under than expected.  In the end, he set aContinue reading “Setting Records and the Cone of Shame”

Vet time

I’ve been a giant slacker with blog posting due to our crazy household and lack of art creation. We just passed the Week 2 mark with the new dogs. They’re acclimating but I’ve never experienced such horrible dog breath in my life!! These two enjoy giving smooches and breathing right in your face. Blech! WasContinue reading “Vet time”
