More waiting

It’s Thursday and I’m waiting for multiple things. Here’s the list: The cat went on walkabout and hasn’t returned home. I’m worried. My husband is heading to Texas and I’m waiting for him to get back from work so I can drive him to the airport. The results from the jury process for Art inContinue reading “More waiting”

Thanksgiving Warming

With the early morning temperatures reaching down to the mid-20’s, daily chores start outside. It’s not like we have a farm, but we do aid the wildbird population by providing water and food stations. The birdbaths are frozen and get a quick dumping of the ice and addition of quarts of warmish water. The hummingbirdContinue reading “Thanksgiving Warming”

The Zen of Nigel

This morning Nigel happened to be stretched across the back of the couch, sleeping on Dave’s shorts. I wanted to do something to capture his zen happiness. The sketchbook was downstairs along with all my tools but the ipad was already in my grasp. So I went with it. Happy cat and a very quickContinue reading “The Zen of Nigel”

Collecting

I’ve finally cleared the desk in order to start working on Cathe’s book. The subject is “Collections” and I certainly have quite a few. Last week was spent sorting and tossing (donating) some of those collections in an attempt to clear out the garage. In the animal world, there is a rodent called a Wood RatContinue reading “Collecting”

Party Animal

Today is the birthday of an amazing artist, Rosie Scribblah. She posts daily sketches of her life in Swansea Wales. If you’ve not visited her site, click HERE. We’ve been blog friends for many years and actually spent a week together at Wingtip Press in Boise Idaho. She taught a multiple day workshop on ManierContinue reading “Party Animal”

Clouds and a Cat

Why is it that animals feel the need to place themselves right in the center of a work zone? Nigel, thoroughly enjoying the ability to flow freely throughout the house, spends as much time as possible perched on my studio table, adding his own personal touch to everything. Enough with the studio companion (and the messyContinue reading “Clouds and a Cat”

Blustery day

Monday has been quite the stormy day. The wind gusts almost blew the bird feeders off their hooks and dumped out the majority of seed (filled just yesterday). I kept hearing big “plinks” as something was hitting the sliding glass door. It ended up being individual sunflower seeds being blown out of the feeder. TheContinue reading “Blustery day”

Cat scribble

Not certain what happened to Sunday since it went by so quickly. We went to brunch at Eats n Treats in Philomath and then Dave had to go into work for a while. The ‘while’ turned into all day, which I kind of expected. He had been putting off paperwork for 3 months and itContinue reading “Cat scribble”

Weekend

I was blessed with a quiet house for 30 min Saturday while Dave took the hounds on a walk. I actually accompanied them for a while but returned home early. My body isn’t fully recovered from the recent illness. Nigel benefited from the dog-free house.  Cuddles, extra canned food, and love. I’m always amazed atContinue reading “Weekend”
