Today was the last Saturday of our exhibit and the Seed Pod workshop. Not knowing how many people would attend the workshop or how to deal with people coming in at different times was hard, but my two helpers did an excellent job! A total of 15 people came to play in paper, including theContinue reading “Artists@Work: Day 17”

Artists@Work: Day 16
Only Saturday, Tuesday & Wednesday left in the show! Friday’s progress: I managed to get out and purchase quite a few rolls of paper before heading into the “studio” and managed to cover over half of the structure. Kind of a ghostly skeleton branch structure. I’m thinking the leaves will remain uncovered for now. ManyContinue reading “Artists@Work: Day 16”
Artists@Work: Day 15
There are only a few days remaining in this show. If you have not been by to see it, you better do it soon! Julia hung some of her finished work up a few days ago. She mentioned this is part of her routine when working. Is it done yet or not? It’s also beenContinue reading “Artists@Work: Day 15”
Sleep Deprivation and Demon Dogs
This morning started early due to “Demon Dog” Moby jumping on the bed. 70 lbs of leaping dog is something you can’t miss, especially when it’s on your sided. Nudging, pushing, standing over the top of me staring, stepping all over my legs, the Beast was making his point loud and clear. Hungry! Food please?!Continue reading “Sleep Deprivation and Demon Dogs”

Luminaria for Friends
Back in October, our friend Shannon married her partner Megan. Last month, they had a great celebration with family and friends at Downward Dog in Corvallis. Since the party I’ve been slowly working on completing a luminaria as a wedding gift for them. Shannon really likes yellow but I was not able to incorporate thatContinue reading “Luminaria for Friends”
Book Box Experiment
After an artist friend died in January, a group of her friends gathered to put together a special book for her family. I took on the job of creating a box to house the book. I’m not a box maker but have dabbled in putting together some pyramid box forms as gifts for family. SoContinue reading “Book Box Experiment”
Forest Projects Finished!
Here are the photos of the finished projects. First is Journal Entry: February 1, 2011. Now the revision of A Walk in the Woods.
Forest Project Continued
With the initial “Walk in the Woods” project completed, gears are shifting to tackle the next. I’ve decided to approach the art through printmaking and cube construction. A total of 7+ cubes will be created, depending on time, and will relay a visual story of a hike through the forest during the month of February.Continue reading “Forest Project Continued”
A Walk in the Woods
“A Walk in the Woods” is looking finished for the Howland Community Open today. Only part lacking are two eye screws to hang from the wall/ceiling/window. I wonder if it will make it on the “curators wall”. That would be a big honor. Drop off time is between noon and 4pm Saturday January 29th. ThisContinue reading “A Walk in the Woods”
