Little projects

In this time of pandemic, my husband and I stay home for work and life. He’s taken over the main space downstairs and I occupy my cluttered 10’x10′ room.  He’s fully connected to his co-workers in the Seattle area and gets to have a bit of social time online with them. Productivity seems to beContinue reading “Little projects”

Backyard Wildlife Book Collaboration

Two years ago I created a hand-made book full of blank pages for 4 other artists (plus myself) to fill in. The title was “Backyard Wildlife” and totally open for the other artists to interpret this idea. We all live in different parts of the world: Karen and Anna are in Australia, Rebecca in Sweden,Continue reading “Backyard Wildlife Book Collaboration”

Starting the final book

Finally, it’s started!! The drawing has quite a ways to go, but at least the pencil has hit the page. This drawing is part of the final book started by my art friend Cathe Jacobi. The book as made it around the world and has been resting on my desk for well over 1.5 years.Continue reading “Starting the final book”

The countdown starts on both ends

Africa departure date: 22 September Dave’s mom status: pre-active dying Last night we actually had a quasi conversation on the phone with her. She was fairly lucid, had drunk several different items and had jello. My sister in-law had the phone on the table as she talked and worked to get Lucille to drink moreContinue reading “The countdown starts on both ends”

Life speed ahead!

It’s almost September! Am I freaking out yet? YES!!! Looking back over the past couple of months I realized how little I’ve been contributing on this site. Where did that last posting go (besides being filed in my brain)? Why didn’t I add the completed book page? Sitka Class? Felted creatures?  I seem to beContinue reading “Life speed ahead!”

A little more work

I’m finally sitting back down in the studio to work on the dog drawing. It’s definitely a work in progress. Ears, eyes, nose, and mouth zone keep shifting as more information gets laid down. Life has been a jumble of so many things that I’ve had a hard time sorting out daily tasks. Arthritis flair-upsContinue reading “A little more work”

Warmth and sunshine

Here we are on March 17, 2019 and it truly feels like spring! Topping out at almost 70, we spent the day house cleaning and clearing brush in the backyard. I finished Anna’s book page yesterday and packed it up today for Cathe. So overdue, but I’m happy with what’s being sent forward (which isContinue reading “Warmth and sunshine”

Bug taking shape

Holes and crazy bugs are taking shape on the iris stalks. Progress is in super slow mode. The colors have become a tad wild for my normal sense of life, but it works. Fingers crossed for another chance tomorrow afternoon for additional work. Off to cook dinner! Drawing: colored pencil, watercolor, micron pen and pencil.

More Seedpod work

The end of January is quickly approaching and more progress is happening on Anna’s page. I hadn’t actually read through the introduction page since opening the package…..and WOW, I’m so horribly off topic from what it was supposed to be. Edible Plants! Eat Me is the title! What happened in my brain??! These are seriouslyContinue reading “More Seedpod work”

And a bit more

It’s Monday in my brain, but Tuesday according to the calendar. That’s what happens on extended holiday weekends! I spent a few hours puzzling on the drawing more with pencil and micron pen. Then I couldn’t wait to drop a touch of watercolor onto the stark page. The dogs are rattling the door wanting aContinue reading “And a bit more”
